Safety and Security Office

The Safety and Security Department is committed to creating and supporting a safe learning environment at every D219 school and campus. We work with students, staff, families, first responders and community members to be active partners in school safety.

Our safety team:

• Monitors school campuses and facilities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (including video surveillance)
• Responds to crisis incidents and manages emergency response plans
• Oversees safety procedures, including visitor guidelines
• Coordinates safety drills and training
• Directs traffic and identifies safety hazards on campus 
• Collaborates with school resource officers, law enforcement and other community partners
• Assists staff with responding to reports and threats to school safety 
• Assists students with conflict resolution, lost items, parking access and school-day issues
