Fine & Applied Arts Clubs

ART CLUB

Art club is open studio time for students who are currently enrolled in an art class. During club time, students can work on projects from their art classes or they can choose to use the time to work on personal projects in the medium of their choice. Art Club is a relaxed atmosphere where students might work together, critique their work, play music, and make art.

Criteria for joining: Co-curricular, must enrolled in an art, design, ceramics or photo class 1st or 2nd semester of the current school year.


AURORIS DANCE COMPANY (@aurorisdance)

Students interested in hip hop, jazz, ballet, tap, or modern dance should consider auditioning for this fine arts dance company at the start of each school year. Auroris Dance Company has one major production per year, and also dances at festivals, competitions, and other venues. Guest artist and choreography opportunities engage students in a variety of diverse dance styles throughout the year.

Criteria for joining club: Based upon audition.


AUTO CLUB

Autos is a club with a casual environment intended for students to do any of the following: work on lab cars, work on their own cars, learn about automotive topics/maintenance/light repair, or just hang around cool equipment/cars and socialize with others.

CREATIVE COOKING CLUB

Provides an opportunity for students who enjoy cooking and like to try new creative recipes. Members not only develop their culinary talents, but also learn leadership and teamwork skills. This is an excellent club for a student who would like to pursue a career as a chef.

Criteria for joining club: Everyone welcome.


DANCE HONOR SOCIETY

Students earn membership based on participation in dance-related school activities (Auroris, dance clubs, dance team, etc.). Dancers who have earned 20 points or more and have a 3.0 or higher GPA may apply for membership in the National Honor Society for Dance Arts during their junior or senior year. Inducted students must continue to demonstrate leadership and involvement in order to earn the distinction of “graduating with honors in dance.” Students of all grade levels are welcome at meetings to get more information and receive support in their dance journey.

FASHION (Instagram: northfashion_d219)

To expose students to the world of fashion through the areas of merchandising, design, promotion and careers.

FCCLA (Family Career & Community Leaders of America)

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a national organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family work and societal issues through family and consumer science educates.

INTERNATIONAL THESPIAN SOCIETY (@NilesNTheatre)

Students earn membership through production work in the Theatre Department. Members promote theatre at Niles North, attend plays in and around Chicago, and attend the Illinois High School Theatre Festival.

NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY

The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is designed specifically for high school students in grades 10-12. The National Art Honor Society program aims to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in art. Our goal is to make art for the community & school and use our love of art to help and inspire people.
